When my antique cat died, I determined to pick one out of the Humane Society. They had named the first cat I saw “Batman”, and I fell in love with him on sight.

But when I introduced him home, I observed he didn’t quite have the courage of the comedian e book hero. I made some mistakes which ended in a month lengthy warfare to coax him out of his hiding region to sign up for the circle of relatives.

I renamed him Bear, and he’s top notch cat, but my visitors appear a little uncomfortable when he comes into the room. After all, he’s absolutely black.

He is a black cat and some human beings are scared of Black Cats…

Scaredy Cat

A very exceedingly touchy cat, our new black Bear became some distance greater scared of us than we have been of him, and we made a number of mistakes within the first hour of his introduction that almost destroyed our possibilities for introducing him to our home.

The process of first finding Bear wherein he had hidden within the residence and steadily coaxing him out of his hiding region to join the circle of relatives turned into lengthy and agonizing. It took over a month, and I had almost despaired that we might ever acclimate him.

Patience won out, though…

Since then, Bear has been rolling round on my lap enjoying his day by day pettings, sleeping in my bed, yowling on the females he sees from his perch within the kitchen window and just generally bringing a whole lot of pleasure to our lives.

He is right here to dispel the belief that a black cat means awful good fortune. He is one of the sweetest cats you’ll ever meet, and there is definitely *nothing* horrifying approximately him. And I can inform you for a reality that no bad luck is hooked up with Bear. He’s crossed my course innumerable instances, and thus far I have not skilled anything one might think about as `awful luck`.

I even have to mention, although, that on Halloween night time he appears to be afraid of his very own black shadow. But I try and hold him calmed down and glad to be wherein he’s…In my lap purring as loud as he can!
