Advice On Citronella No-Bark Collars

Dear Adam:

I have a customer who has just adopted a dog. The canine is adjusting to its new rental, however is barking a bit whilst the proprietor leaves. A friend of hers has lent a citronella collar for her to attempt.

My question is: Is there any health issues with using the collar in terms of the spray getting inside the eyes or lungs?

I would really like to listen approximately peoples reports with the collars whether or not they’re bad or fantastic.

Thank you in advance!!

Dear RD:

They have a propensity to jam up. Not to mention run out of spray. And – even though it likely won’t kill the canine – who is aware of what spraying that stuff of their eyes and nose will do over an extended-term period of time.

Ideally, the dog might handiest want to be sprayed once or twice after which he’d discover ways to never bark even as wearing the collar. But anyone I know appears to undergo the top off spray bottles like a trojan horse eats thru a discarded balogna sandwich. And this would endorse that the correction from the spray is only motivational sufficient to get the dog to cease the contemporary exhibition of the conduct, however is not motivational sufficient to make him don’t forget to not do it later.

I advise the Tri-Tronics Bark Limiter. It’s a best product (it offers the dog a mild surprise whilst he barks) and it really works thoroughly. Try an internet search on google.Com.

Good good fortune,

P.S. If you have already got the Citronella collar… Go in advance and attempt it and see if it really works for you. It’s no longer going to kill the canine in a single day. 😉 And you may simply get fortunate and find that one or sprays could be all which you want to diminish the conduct… In case your dog has a fairly soft temperament to begin with.

That’s concerned about now, parents!
