We often hear people say “fight like cats and dogs”, perhaps because these people think that cats and dogs would never get along. However, this isn’t always true and that’s what the video below demonstrates.

Melbourne firefighters received an urgent call for a burning family home.

When they arrived, they were informed that the family’s dog was still inside. When they rushed in, they had no idea, they would save more than one life. They actually saved five of them because Leo stayed in the fire to save four newborn kittens.

The four-legged hero named Leo remained behind and refused to leave the newborn kittens. He protected them until help arrived.

With the family safe, firefighters rushed into the house to rescue beloved pets. They found the dog and brought him – and the kittens – just in time. They were able to rescue the animals and revive them all with oxygen.

“Leo didn’t want to leave the kittens and it nearly cost him his life,” Ken Brown of the Metropolitan Fire Brigade told the local news station.

Eventually, the family reunited with all of their pets, including the kittens’ mother, who was initially lost in the hustle and bustle.

As for Leo, who risked his life to protect the little cats from danger, he was hailed as a hero by the Australian firefighters.

Thankfully thanks to Leo, the kittens haven’t consumed any of their nine lives. Please SHARE this amazing story with all your family and friends.
